Notes on the disposal of batteries and electrical devices


Dispose of electrical devices in an environmentally friendly manner

Electrical devices must not be disposed of with household waste. According to the European directive on waste electrical and electronic equipment, used electrical equipment must be collected separately and sent to special collection and return systems. Owners of old devices from private households can hand them in at the collection points of public waste disposal carriers or at the collection points set up by manufacturers or distributors within the meaning of the ElektroG.


Damage to the environment through incorrect disposal of batteries
 
Batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. You are legally obliged to return old batteries so that proper disposal can be guaranteed. You can hand in used batteries at a municipal collection point or in your local retailer. As a distributor of batteries, we are also obliged to take back used batteries, whereby our take-back obligation is limited to used batteries of the type that we carry or have carried as new batteries in our range. You can therefore either return used batteries of the aforementioned type to us with sufficient postage or return them free of charge to our shop at the address given in the legal notice.

Batteries are marked with the symbol of a crossed out wheelie bin. This symbol indicates that batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. For batteries that contain more than 0.0005 percent by mass of mercury (HG), more than 0.002 percent by mass of cadmium (Cd) or more than 0.004 percent by mass of lead (Pb), the chemical designation of the pollutant used can be found under the garbage can symbol.
